The students at Gesu School had many opportunities to particpate in theater. The school organized plays with student actors. Plays were often organized by grade level. In addition Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) put on plays at the school. Only a few pictures from these various plays have been preserved for today.

"Hard to Catch" was written and directed by  Francis N. Duffey, who was a 1941 Gesu Alumnus. The play won first place at the CYO's Junior one-act play competition on Febuary 1st, 1945. It beat out seven other competitors including entries by St. Michael and St. Francis Parishes. The cast included Evelyn Beste, Lois Mireau, Marion O'Donnell, Mildred Beste, Rae Ellen Moore, Diane Madler. Mary Morris and Patricia Martin.
